Mark A. Escribano is a filmmaker, photographer and multi-media artist. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Tampa, Florida, he later moved to Mexico City, Mexico to study Spanish dance under Gissela Sotomayor and Manolo Vargas. In 1998 he moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he won the Mary L. Nohl Fellowship for emerging artists and was a recipient of the Suitcase Fund for travelling artists. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, including showing at the Pompidou Museum in Paris, France. He works professionally as a photographer, cinematographer, videographer, actor and director. He shows regularly and often creates or collaborates on performance/ installation related exhibitions. He is a current member of TheWhiteBoxPainters performance art troupe.
